Luca Ravano and Massimo Massari have been working together at Aletti Private Equity SGR since 2005 managing two private equity funds and completing a number of successful transaction among including Lovato Gas (Premio Dematté AIFI 2009, winner category buyout), MesGo (Premio Dematté AIFI 2007, nomination category buyout), Gardaland (Premio Dematté AIFI 2007, nomination category buyout) and Lucomed (Premio Dematté AIFI 2006, nomination buyout category).

luca ravanoLuca Ravano, Partner

A graduate of Università Bocconi of Milan, started his career at Sanpaolo Bank in London, where in 1993 was head of the Italian desk in the corporate division. In 1997 with Hambros Bank was responsible for the origination of project and structured finance for the Italian market. Thereafter lead Sanpoalo’s project and structured finance team on non Italian markets. Closed several projects in the power generation, transportation and telecom sectors. In 2000 moved to Milan as Investment Director with Sanpaolo Imi Private Equity where successfully closed several investment and divestment transactions. In 2004 joined Aletti Merchant as head of private equity and was appointed General Manager of Aletti Private Equity SGR, starting one of the most prominent businesses in Italy in private equity for small and medium enterprises, closing 11 investments and 7 divestments. Has been a board member of several industrial and financial companies, as well as member of the investment committee of Italian and foreign private equity funds.

luca ravanoMassimo Massari, Partner

A graduate of Bocconi University, Massimo started his career in 1992 in Milan at Citibank as a credit analyst and then moved to London where he joined the corporate finance department of Hill Samuel Bank. In 1995 he joined the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) where he carried out several private equity transactions in Central and Eastern Europe in the consumer goods sector. In 1998 he joined the consumer goods team of PAI Partners in Paris where he was involved in a number of large pan European LBOs. After a brief stint as Managing Director of PAI in Milan he then moved to Findim, the holding company of the Fossati family as assistant to the chairman and responsible for strategy and business development. Massimo joined Aletti Private Equity SGR in 2005 where he was involved in a number of transaction including Lovato Gas.
